Coffee Beanery
A franchisee is a powerful and effective process that includes the marketing, sale and distribution of products as well as services. Experience of the franchisor and the goodwill of the brand are the vital attributes of a successful franchisee. The franchisor licenses the trademarks and techniques of doing business and performs the distribution of products or services through his associated dealers. Coffee Beanery provides street front cafe franchises, as well as locations in malls, airports, office buildings, hospitals and college campuses across the United States. Since the past 24 years, Coffee Beanery continues to build its brand and franchise organization on the principles of time tested and privileged traditions and values. Exceptional coffee, a warm relaxing environment, and a corporate culture that embraces its franchisees with every opportunity to succeed represent these values. Coffee Beanery was established in the early 1970s by JoAnne and Julius Shaw. Coffee Beanery opened its first stores in the United States in 1976, before the American public was aware of the term specialty coffee. Later, they opened their first international location in Guam in 1998. Today, they offer master franchises in China, Korea and the Middle East and has over 200 locations throughout the United States. Their corporate headquarters is located at Michigan. Coffee Beanery’s total investment includes 130000 to 400000 dollars, with Express or kiosk option available, and a franchise fee of 13800 to 27500 dollars. The ongoing royalty fee is 6 percent with a term of agreement varying from 10 to 20 years and is renewable. According to the Entrepreneur magazine in 2006, Coffee Beanery ranked 338th in Franchise 500 rankings. Coffee Beanery has grown from a domestic to an international specialty coffee company through the implementation of a master franchise program that fueled the development of their global distribution system.
