Cost Cutters Family Hair Care
A franchisee is a powerful and effective process that includes the marketing, sale and distribution of products as well as services. Experience of the franchisor and the goodwill of the brand are the vital attributes of a successful franchisee. The franchisor licenses the trademarks and techniques of doing business and performs the distribution of products or services through his associated dealers. Cost Cutters Family Hair Care was started in 1963 along with franchise. Joe Francis opened the first The Barbers Hairstyling for Men salon in Minnesota. Five years later, the salons began styling women’s hair. In 1982, Francis expanded even more, founding family salon Cost Cutters. Twelve Cost Cutters centers started in that first year and six years later, the 300th salon opened. Today, Regis Corporation, a Minneapolis-based company that also owns a multitude of other hair salons, including City Looks, Regis Salons, Supercuts and We Care Hair, owns Cost Cutters. Franchisor has 650 employees in franchise department. It is seeking for franchisees in Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, and Louisiana. As the beauty industry’s global leader in salons, hair restoration centers and education, Regis Corporation sees franchising trends for 2006 that include the growth of franchise concepts as well as an increase of franchise owners. Regis Corporation projects that 2006 will provide more prospects in the western and eastern parts of the U.S. as more and more people look to franchising as a retirement opportunity, a family legacy or a financial tactic. Veteran franchisers are choosing multi unit franchising as a development strategy. In its recent Multi owners study, the IFA, International Franchise Association stated that nearly 20 percent of franchisees are considered multi-unit owners, which means they own an average of 4.5 units. These franchisees account for more than half of all franchised units. Regis Corporation’s franchised salon concepts, which include supercuts, cost cutters and pro-cuts are continually listed on Entrepreneur magazine’s annual Top 500 Franchises’ listings. They are the largest, most profitable company in the hair care business.
