FasTracKids Int'l. Inc.
A franchise agreement takes place when the concerned parties involved are bound together through certain contractual provisions. This is an arrangement whereby someone with an idea for a business, the franchisor, sells to another person the franchisee the rights to use the business's name, sell a product, or provide a service to someone else. A franchise agreement will usually specify the given territory the franchisee retains exclusive control over the area protection, as well as the extent to which the franchisee will be supported by the franchisor. FasTracKids International provides an enrichment education system for children of ages 3 to 6. The course is a two year curriculum covering twelve educational subjects that includes biology, astronomy, literature, economics and mathematics. Franchisor is a privately-held company with 12 employees and 10 employees in the franchise department. FasTracKids originated in 1998 and today is one of the greatest growing franchise organizations globally. They have appointed more than 200 licensees in 34 countries. In addition to English, their program is presented into 10 languages such as Bahasa, Arabic, Indonesian, Korean, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Mandarin, Chinese, Spanish, Greek and Thai. FasTracKids ranked at the 383rd position according to the Entrepreneur magazine of 2006. Their costs and fees include total investments of 79000 to 189000 dollars, with a franchise fee of 22000 dollars, ongoing royalty fee of 1.5 percent, and 5 years term of agreement which is renewable with a renewal fee of 1000 dollars. The curriculum is distributed through the FasTracKids learning stations, an interactive whiteboard and video based lessons in 12 subject areas. Their creative activities improve the curriculum, and children develop the self-confidence as they prepare and deliver reports based on the classroom activity in videotaped presentations. They also offer programs that deliver considerable developmental gains in concentration, general knowledge, problem solving and other educational goals that lead to higher academic performance throughout a child’s learning years.
