As he started franchising that year, Drum opened a system of campgrounds along America’s highways.
Kampgrounds of America Inc. have a total investment of 716000 to 1.6 million dollars, with a franchise fee of 25000 dollars, ongoing royalty fee of 8 percent, and 10 years term of agreement which is renewable. They compiled the topmost ranking at the 110th position in 2002 and are presently ranked at the 260th position according to rankings in Entrepreneur magazine.
