In 1969, Interiors by Decorating Den was founded by Steve Bursten to offer interior decorating services to working couples and individuals who did not have the time to shop for home decor. At present their franchisees work out of custom-designed vans, bringing drapery, furniture, carpet and wall covering samples to the customer’s home or office and helps the customer select everything from window treatments to furniture to artwork.
All franchisees go through 80 hours of initial training at Decorating Den Lifestyle University. That is followed up by six months of classroom work, home study, meetings, and seminars and on the job training that may include working with an experienced decorator. The costs and fees include total investment of $49900, franchise fee is $29900, and ongoing royalty fee is 7 to 9 percent and Term of agreement 10 years, renewable.
