Wienerschnitzel
A franchise agreement takes place when the concerned parties involved are bound together through certain contractual provisions. This is an arrangement whereby someone with an idea for a business, the franchisor, sells to another person the franchisee the rights to use the business's name, sell a product, or provide a service to someone else. A franchise agreement will usually specify the given territory the franchisee retains exclusive control over the area protection, as well as the extent to which the franchisee will be supported by the franchisor. Wienerschnitzel was started with the opening of a single hot dog stand in 1961. Today, they are the World's Largest Hot Dog Chain with over 340 restaurants in ten states and Guam. Besides their signature chili dog, they are also loved for their delicious corn dogs, chili cheese fries and chili cheeseburgers. A Wienerschnitzel franchise offers the opportunity to be part of the World’s largest hot dog chain. With over 45 years of proven success, Wienerschnitzel’s line of hot dogs, including its famous chili dogs, provide a unique and competitive position in the fast food marketplace. The initial 20 year franchise fee is 32,000 dollars, royalty is 5 percent of sales, and the advertising commitment is 5 percent of sales. The franchisee, or a designated General Manager, must complete a six week training program. Additional and ongoing training and support are provided as well. Franchisees may choose from five building designs with land size requirements from 17,760 square feet to 22,000 square feet. Building and equipment packages range from approximately 300,000 to 750,000 dollars. Their total investment is 136,000 dollars to 1 million dollars, express or kiosk option available, franchise fee is 320,00 dollars, ongoing royalty fee is 5 percent, term of agreement is 20 years, and renewal fee is 1.6 thousand dollars per year. As according to entrepreneur magazine 2002 to 2006, wienerschnitzel ranked 171 in 2006, 120 in 2005, 114 in 2004, and 143 in 2003, 94 in 2002 in franchise 500 rank.
