Domino’s Pizza: A Taste of Success

Advertising Information for solidbizopps

As many other companies, Domino’s started its operations with only one location in the year 1960, when Tom Monaghan and his brother James bought the pizza store called “DomiNick’s” which was located in Ypsilanti, MI. At that time, they borrowed $500 to buy the store. During the next year, James changed his half of the business for a Volkswagen Beetle. By the year 1965, Tom was the only owner of the business and decided to change the name of the store; he called it Domino’s Pizza Inc.

By the year 1967, the first franchise of Domino’s Pizza opened in Ypsilanti, MI and in 1978, the company inaugurated the location number 200 inside the US. They were growing very fast and they demonstrated it when the first international franchise opened its doors in Winnipeg, Canada by 1983; in that same year, they opened the location number 1,000 inside the US and the first location in the Australian Continent in Queensland.

During 1985, the company inaugurated 954 new units for a total of 2,841 shops. This fact converts Domino’s Pizza in the company of pizzas with the faster growth of the country. They also opened other locations in places such like Luton, England and Minato Ku, Japan; and three years later one more in Bogotá, Colombia.

By 1989, the company already had 5,000 locations around the world and in the next year, they sold the franchise number 1,000. In 1997 they simultaneously inaugurated seven stores in 5 continents.

Today, Domino’s operates more than 7,500 stores in 50 different countries around the world. If you are interested in being part of this successful business, contact the company and ask them about the possibilities to obtain a franchise.
